We warmly invite members of the Ghanaian parliament to an exclusive webinar on Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) and its connection with the right to education. Scheduled for November 27th from 10:00 to 11:30 Ghana time. Session facilitated by Dr. Mine Yildirim (Freedom of Belief Initiative - Turkey).

The consultation aims to determine the level of support for establishing a regional network and discuss the potential form of regional collaboration and future steps.

This IPPFoRB panel brings together parliamentarians and faith leaders who have dedicated their lives to reaching across divides and building coalitions to promote a more just and inclusive world, where all individuals can enjoy their fundamental rights and freedoms.

This High-Level Dialogue will explore how climate change exposes, accentuates and reinforces existing inequalities. If we are to ensure that ‘no one is left behind’, it is important to ensure that mitigation and adaptation efforts take account of the needs of marginalised communities, including religious or belief communities and indigenous peoples around the world.

This Dialogue will provide parliamentarians, faith leaders and influencers and civil society space to look together at the relationship between FoRB and health in greater detail. It will explore the role that each can play in addressing the different experiences religious/belief communities have had through the pandemic and the biases that exist in health care access and resourcing.

This Dialogue will explore how parliamentarians and religious and belief leaders can navigate this politicised environment and in so doing better understand the role that they can play in ensuring the freedom of all individuals to express themselves, including in relation to religion or belief, while at the same time protecting against incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence.

With a focus on four countries in the Western Balkans region (Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia), IPPFoRB together with Dr Mine Yildirim (author of the report) launches the ‘Strengthening the Protection of Freedom of Religion or Belief in Western Balkans: A Roadmap for Parliamentarians’.

To mark the 40th anniversary of the 1981 Declaration on the Elimination of Intolerance and Discrimination and UNESCO’s International Day of Tolerance on 16 November, this High Level Dialogue will explore how we can achieve inclusive and equitable quality education for all regardless of their religion or belief.

Alongside International Day of the Girl (11 October) and International Rural Women’s Day (15 October), this High-Level Dialogue provides an opportunity for determining how we can confidently build communities in which all people, regardless of their gender, can thrive.

On the anniversary of ‘Global Goals Week’, this High-Level Dialogue provides an opportunity for parliamentarians and faith and belief leaders to engage with expert speakers and practitioners and to reflect on these questions within their own contexts.

In this webinar, panellists will reflect on their unique experiences of working with regional, national, and supranational legislative bodies to fight religious persecution in the Middle East and beyond.
