MEETING OF ASEAN PARLIAMENTARIANS ON NEW TACTICS FOR RESPECTING, PROTECTING AND PROMOTING FREEDOM OF RELIGION OR BELIEF
The meeting challenged the growing threats to freedom of religion or belief across the ASEAN region by engaging lawmakers and providing them, in a workshop format, with knowledge and resources to be advocates of these fundamental freedoms in their own countries and at the regional level. The meeting provided an opportunity for parliamentarians to interact with civil society representatives directly in order to build relationships that might support the long-term, successful engagement and collaboration between parliamentarians and other stakeholders on these issues.
